19-year-old Canadian pianist, Elijah Orlenko, is quickly establishing himself as a sensitive and versatile artist. He is currently studying at the Curtis Institute of Music in the studio of Michelle Cann.
Prior to coming to Curtis, Elijah studied with Michael Berkovsky at the Taylor Academy of Music in Toronto.
He has received top prizes at the Isabel Bader Competition, Los Angeles Young Musician International Piano Competition as well as several competitions across Canada.
Elijah made his Koerner Hall debut with the Academy Concert Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Ivars Taurins. He also played with the Philharmonic of Galicia, the Orchestra Toronto Concert Series and the Concert Series of the Etobicoke Philharmonic under the baton of Matthew Jones.
Born to first-generation immigrants from Ukraine, Elijah was raised with fascination and curiosity toward all forms of art and science. In his spare time, Elijah enjoys playing duets with his older sister, Mariya, as well as riding his bike and enjoying the great outdoors.
